What: Organizers and supporters of a referendum will gather at the Utah State Capitol to give an update on the petition that would let voters decide on a controversial tax reform bill. At a special session in December, legislators passed S.B. 2001, a tax reform bill that takes hundreds of millions away from education, even though the Utah Constitution requires all income tax revenues to go to education. The legislature requires referendum backers to gather 115,869 signatures, divided proportionally among at least 15 of Utah’s 29 counties, by Tuesday, Jan. 21.
